Education
Mr. Shinn earned his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2001 and earned his B.S. in Psychology from Central Michigan University in 1997. Mr. Shinn graduated from Wayne State cum laude and in the top 20% of his class. While at Central Michigan, Mr. Shinn was awarded a research grant relating to replicating the biological effect of Huntington disease in rodents.
Bar Admissions
Mr. Shinn is admitted to practice in Michigan and Ohio. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the U.S. District Court Northern District of Ohio.
After winning a significant jury verdict and developing a stable group of business clients, Mr. Shinn decided to provide his big law firm experience and legal expertise through his own firm. His goal is to provide clients with sophisticated, deep legal expertise packaged in practical advice. And he takes pride in developing these professional relationships into long-lasting friendships.
Personal
Mr. Shinn is a life-long Michigander. He grew up in Central Michigan but moved to Detroit to attend law school and has continued to live in Southeast Michigan. He enjoys living in Metro Detroit with his wife and their daughter, several “puppies,” they rescued over the years, and some cats to keep things interesting. They are active in Girl Scouts, dog rescue organizations, and the outdoors.
